The Law of Advance Planning

The Law of Advance Planning
By Brian Tracy
The best salespeople prepare thoroughly before every call. This principle is so simple that it is often overlooked. The hallmark of the true professional is thorough preparation, reviewing every detail, before every sales meeting. The very best salespeople are those who review their presentations and study the details of their products and their sales materials repeatedly prior to every new sales contact.
The Customer's Situation
The salesperson with the best knowledge of the customer's real situation will be the one most likely to make the sale. The more time you take to thoroughly understand your prospective customer and your prospective customer's situation, the more likely you will be in a position to sell at the critical moment.
Sales Professionals Plan their questions in Advance
There is a direct relationship between the quality of the problem focused questions that you ask a customer and the likelihood of a sale taking place. The only way of assuring that your questions are clear and penetrating is by writing them out, word for word, in advance. Some of the most successful salespeople who have ever lived have been "question experts."

"This is the salesperson's winning edge"You're a sales professional. It's what you were meant to be. Selling is in your blood. But to keep moving ahead, it helps to have a coach, a mentor, a knowledgeable, reliable source of new sales information. You need, quite simply, an advanced course in selling taught by a master of the trade. And that's exactly what I give you in Advanced Selling Techniques.

Notes:
The power is on the side of the salesperson with the best notes. Plan your sales-call objectives thoroughly in advance of meeting the client. Write down and itemize exactly what you hope to accomplish in this visit. After the call, quickly write down everything that was said. Don't trust it to memory. Remember the Chinese saying, "The palest ink lasts longer than the finest memory." Prior to every sales call, and no matter how many times you have visited this same customer, take a few minutes to review the customer's file, the customer's situation, and your own notes on what has taken place in the past. You'll be amazed at how impressive you sound when you go into a sales interview having just reviewed the customer's file a few minutes before. And customers always know if you have done your homework.
Prior to Closing a Sale
The top salespeople in every field prepare exhaustively prior to selling, prior to their presentations, and prior to closing. They think everything through in advance. And they leave nothing to chance. Remember, it's the details that make the difference. The salesperson who has taken the greatest amount of time to acquaint himself or herself with the most specific needs of the customer is the one who builds the highest level of trust and the best sales relationship. Thorough preparation is the essential precondition for successful selling.

United Nations Convention Against Corruption

In today's Editorial of Philippine Star, entitled Beyond lip service ... it briefly described Philippine involvement in United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). It was first opened for signature on Dec. 9, 2003 in Mexico and the Philippines became one of the 128 on Nov. 8, 2006.

As stated by the Philippine Star, "Last Tuesday, as the nation joined the rest of the world in marking Anti-Corruption Day, the government reaffirmed its commitment to UNCAC. This commitment should go beyond lip service and the nation should start adhering to the UNCAC, which proposes wide-ranging measures to eradicate corruption."

In relation to transparency and deletion of some parts of Constitution, while it's true that reaffirming the nation's commitment to UNCAC is not enough, Philippine Constitutional Change might serve as barometer of democratic process and hence, scrutiny of implementation of existing laws pertaining to maoney laundering and corruption.

Corruption, Kofi Annan declared, “undermines democracy and the rule of law, leads to violations of human rights, distorts markets, erodes the quality of life and allows organized crime, terrorism and other threats to human security to flourish.”

Fluorishing of life and human security will only be possible if changes will be initiated not only in the government but also in the moral fiber of fellow Filipinos. Corruption and fight against it comes from within, not from just signing in any ratifications. I just can't believe that the people deserves the right government if they, themseves are corrupt. Of course, you can always say, "hey, Christian... that's another story." Yeahh.. sure but just like what Jose Rizal said in one of his novels: "Tal amo, tal esclavo; tal gobierno, tal pais."

"Like master, like slave; like government, like country."

The Richest Man in Babylon

"The Richest Man in Babylon". Isinulat ito ni George S. Clason.
Nagtataglay ito ng 7 Batayang Prinsipyo:
1) Start thy purse to fattening - save/invest
2) Control thy expenditures - watch out for self serving brokers
3) Make thy gold mutiply - use powerful investments
4) Guard thy treasures from loss - watch out for brokers with
their hot tips.
5) Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment - rental properties, your own home---but stay within your means.
6) Insure a future income - do work that you love to do. Become excellent at it.
7) Increase thy ability to earn - education never stops.

1. desire for sex expression
2. Love
3. a burning desire for fame, power, or financial gain, MONEY

4. Music
5. Friendship between either those of the same sex, or those of the opposite sex
6. A Master Mind aliance bsed upon the harmony of two or more people who ally themselves for spiritual or temporal achievement.
7. Mutual suffering, such as that experienced by people who are persecuted.
8. Auto-suggestion
9. Fear
10. Narcotics and alcohol

"a man who has discovered how to increase the vibrations of thought to the point where he can freely communicate wih sources of knowledge not available through the ordinary rate of vibration of thought."
(wow! nosebleed...) :)
